A three hour interactive dialog on life as a creative professional
Matt will offer an overview of The Imagemaker’s Handbook, his 5 volume 2,000 page exploration on the creative vision and strategic tools essential to pursuing your passion with purpose.
In addition to discussing this project 20 years in the making that will be released in 2021, Matt will focus on the following practical concerns and philosophical concepts to empower and enrich your artistic adventure.
- Establishing and protecting your unique creative voice.
- Discussing the value of discipline, ambition, and guts to honestly declare what you want to achieve as an Imagemaker.
- Sharing the behind the scenes process of projects ranging from shooting a photojournalism assignment in a third world country, to shooting and designing a record album package—as well as publishing a monograph of personal photographs, to having some of those photographs accepted into the permanent collection of The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
- The transition from photography to filmmaking through directing, shooting, and editing over 175 music videos, 2 feature films, and 2 documentaries.
- Developing a creative process and business model of being a one-person-band to enhance your efficiency, explore your creativity, and expand your bank account.
- How to direct the famous and handle the infamous subjects who will shine and whine before your camera.
- Discussing the process of assignments from traditional darkroom photographs to modern digital imaging.
